GOSR Joins Nassau County in Cutting Ribbon on New 8th Precinct Station House

On Tuesday, December 12, representatives from the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery (GOSR) joined Nassau County officials in Mineola to dedicate the new 8th Precinct Station House.

Superstorm Sandy blew the windows out of the original 10,000-foot facility even as the precinct’s officers continued to work from the station house.

Announcements: The Public Comment Period for the HUD National Disaster Resilience Competition (NDRC) Phase 2 Application is Now Open

On June 22, 2015, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced that New York State was selected to advance to Phase 2 of the National Disaster Resiliency Competition (NDRC). As part of this second and final phase, the State has identified specific projects and programs for which it seeks funding through the competition. These projects and programs were developed in consultation with eligible counties and state agencies. 

Single Family Housing Repair/Reconstruction Grant Agreement Term Extended to 30 Months Total

NY Rising has extended the deadline to complete Repair/Reconstruction projects under the Single Family Home program from 18 months to a total of 30 months from the date that the applicant signed the original grant agreement.  This extension applies to all Program applicants, and individual requests for extension are not needed.  Following is the clause of the Amended and Restated Rehabilitation/Reconstruction Grant Agreement that is amended by this Program decision:
