Living Breakwaters Construction Updates

CONSTRUCTION IS UNDERWAY!

 

AUGUST 2021 UPDATE

Beginning this month, a barge with a crane will be staged in the just offshore of Conference House Park. The crane barge will begin lowering marine mattresses for Breakwater 1 (the south-western most breakwater) to rest on the floor of the bay.

CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE

Living Breakwaters construction timeline

 

The breakwaters will be constructed from the southwest to the northeast (see plan below) between the summer/fall of 2021 and the end of 2024. The shoreline restoration component will be constructed in the final season of construction (2024).
